Prof Grahame Elder

Grahame Elder is a renal physician and researcher in the area of chronic kidney disease- mineral and bone disorders (CKD-MBD). He has been a workgroup member for international CKD-MBD guideline development with Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) and has recently contributed to the American Society of Nephrology Self-Assessment Program on vascular calcification, CKD and the microbiota, and as guest editor (2023) for Disorders of Divalent Ions, Renal Bone Disease, and Nephrolithiasis. Recent publications have addressed imaging and management of bone disease and fracture risk in patients with CKD and following transplantation. He is a staff specialist, Department of Renal Medicine, Westmead Hospital Sydney, visiting scientist Garvan Institute of Medical Research, and holds clinical academic positions with the University of Notre Dame Australia and the University of Sydney.
