Dr Clare Holleley

Clare Holleley is a Principal Research Scientist and Group Leader at CSIRO National Research Collections. She is an expert in reptile sex determination and an innovator in the field of Historical epigenomics. At CSIRO, Clare oversees the science and strategic direction of two national vertebrate research collections (Australian National Wildlife Collection and Australian National Fish Collection) and leads the Temporal Epigenome Atlas, a multi-institution consortium characterising the dynamics of vertebrate gene expression over the last century. Clare is passionate about the value of natural history collections for genomic and epigenomic research and is a vocal advocate for the integration of historical insight into contemporary ecological, reproductive and disease research.
