Cameron Nowell
Monash University
Cameron has led the imaging and flow cytometry capabilities at MIPS since its inception 11 years ago. Bringing experience in imaging (optical and electron) along with a range of other lab skills such as molecular biology, biochemistry and microbiology helped the facility provide a holistic approach to imaging. Not just offering tools for imaging, but project support from initial design to final data analysis. The approach of the facility is that an image is the first step, the data that can be mined out of it using advanced analysis is where the true value lies.
Cameron is also regularly called on to run image analysis workshops across Australia and is a well regarded member of the national and international imaging community. This has helped Cameron be part of many and varied projects ranging from pharmacology to SARS-CoV-2, honey bees and even coral growth.
