A/Prof Paul Mitchell

Paul Mitchell is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame Australia, and an Honorary Departmental Senior Research Fellow, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, University of Oxford, UK. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Asia Pacific Consortium on Osteoporosis and Board of Trustees of Osteoporosis New Zealand.

Since 2005, Paul has developed programs to improve fragility fracture care and prevention throughout the world. This includes initiatives at the global, regional and national level to implement the Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) model of care. Paul has published and presented extensively on implementation of FLS and was a co-author of the 2012 International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) World Osteoporosis Day Report on the IOF Capture the Fracture® Program.

In 2016, he was awarded the IOF President’s Award in recognition of his contribution to the global activities of IOF..
