Agnes Arthur
University of Adelaide
Agnes is the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, Senior Lecturer and co-lead of Research Integrated Learning and Research Placement undergraduate courses and Researcher at the University of Adelaide. She completed her PhD at the University of Adelaide, with a dual focus on molecular signalling and the neural potential of dental pulp stem cells (DPSC). Agnes was involved in developing patented techniques to investigate the neuroplasticity of DPSC and their therapeutic potential. As a postdoctoral researcher Agnes’ research is interested in understanding the molecular and cellular signalling within the bone microenvironment and how this influences skeletal development, disease – particularly osteoporosis, and skeletal repair following fracture. With a current focus on understanding bone-nerve interaction in these contexts. As POC chair I aim to increase creative collaboration between fundamental and clinical researchers for the betterment of musculoskeletal patients.
